Every Friday, I write a post about singers with unique voices not commonly heard in mainstream music. My goal? To educate emerging artists and music lovers while inspiring them to embrace their own quirks. This week, I'm sharing the story of why I started The Unique Voices Club, while experimenting with the long-form video format.

We interrupt our regular Unique Voices Club programming so you get to see me face to face in a short video describing my heart for this project. Especially if in this new year you have no idea why I've shown up in your feed writing about these artists you've probably never heard of. I already pinned an earlier blog post about the whole mission behind this in the blog homepage of my main website, but to go into more detail, the Unique Voices Club was not just born out of the fascination with these voices and wanting to share them. It was also born out of my own precarious musical journey, as you can scroll on below.

Our shorts on YouTube have reached thousands of views. And so did my reactions on Bella DeNapoli when I first shared them. But the truth is, I love being in front of the camera so you can see my passion in real time. (Also, writing a blog post every week gets exhausting at times.) So as we switch to a biweekly schedule while we test-drive the longer YouTube videos, there's a bunch of ways you can get involved with the education of the Unique Voices Club: like and subscribe and follow and all that, but you can actually share artists that you believe could be written about in future episodes of the Unique Voices Club. If you subscribe in the Firebird Flock, you gain access to the group forum where we can share with each other! And I'll shout you out!

I go into more detail in the video below:

Here's your weekly reminder to dare to be different. And don't let anyone tell you what you're allowed to enjoy and sound like or what your brain is allowed to come up with. And use those tips. This has been part of my own journey (and you'll learn more of it as you read more posts). Learn from it, and you'll be moving mountains in no time.

Stay educated,

Alexia
